                                                               Getting Overloaded at The Token

Kicking off the night was local favorites Panic Trigger. Kevin Kanka, Tommy Furbacher, Ken Thomas, and John Massey have
been tearing up the local scene for years, and tonight was no exception. Off of their sophomore release Wind Me Up, the first
song of the night, The Party Starts Here was fitting for what promised to be the biggest party of the year.  These guys definitely
know how to kick-start the night. From newer songs like Waiting For The Boom, Shangri-La and Half Past Dead, to old school
favorite Troubled Times, they sounded great and the crowd was pumped.

Because I hadn’t seen them before, I was looking forward to the next band, Dark Avenger. I know…. the name sounds like a
bad 80s comic book hero but, they’re actually named after the Manowar song. Heavily influenced by the 80s metal sound(and I
mean that in a good way!) these guys threw down a set filled with some old school classic METAL! From Saxon to Judas Priest
to Iron Maiden to, of course Manowar, Dennis, Josh, Mike, Nick, and Ryan kept the still growing crowd rocking.

Next up was new sensation Bloodline Riot. Formed from members of Konniption Fit, 60 Second Crush, Dryvel, and Clear,
these guys (and girl) have been ripping up the Motor City since releasing their first single Burn back in May 2011(On a side
note, Burn was produced by Andy Pantalan of Sponge and Taproot fame, and mixed/mastered by Chuck Alkazian who worked
with Pop Evil and Saving Abel). These guys sounded tight from start to finish. Vocalist Michael Hughes has great range, a killer
stage presence, and is the perfect front-man for this high energy quartet. Guitarist Jason Caine has got some serious chops
and can shred with the best of them. Bassist Amber Cat isn’t just beautiful, this girl has skills!! Her thumping bass helps define
the Bloodline sound. And new addition drummer Dan Chapa is just a madman behind the drums and has a drumming style
that just adds to the total package. Personally I can't wait for the NEW CD coming soon from Bloodline Riot.

By this point of the night, the drinks were flowing and the crowd was feeling pretty good. The floor filled quickly as people
scrambled to find a good spot for the main attraction of the evening……OVERLOADED!!! With the guys having been pulled
away to other projects, it’s been a few years since Overloaded performed together. To say these guys sounded like they haven’t
missed a beat would be an understatement…. they fucking killed it!!! Front-man Chris Gillen (currently lead singer in Twisted
Witch) is one of THE BEST metal vocalists around and has a stage presence that grabs the crowd by the throat and says “we’
re here to rock fuckers!!”  From the opening riff of Shotgun City to the sweet solos of Feeling Overloaded and Obviously Envious,
the crowd was loving the chops of guitarist Erik Kluiber(currently with L.A. band Gypsyhawk). Rounding out the line-up is
bassist Michael Massie, rhythm guitarist John Sullens, and drummer Lorenzo Gonzalez (currently drumming for Choking
Susan) who hits hard and is as entertaining as he is talented. From riff heavy classics like Heavy Metal Highway, Presidents
Day, and Ride That Feeling, to the more melodic bass driven Sick, to the obligatory kick-ass metal ballad Where Are You
Running To,  the crowd definitely got Overloaded (pun intended) tonight as the boys kicked out a killer set of face melting heavy
metal.
